The Mistic Place "Scribina"
Where Miracles Happen
Where Miracles Happen
Deep in the forests of the Rhodope Mountains in Bulgaria (Europe) lies an ancient megalithic sanctuary known as Scribina. Shrouded in myths and legends, it attracts people seeking solace and healing. Annually, the sanctuary welcomes thousands from near and far in search of hope for recovery, who share incredible stories of healing and renewal.
The sanctuary is surrounded by a mystical forest, which is the main reason why many people flock to the area. It is believed that the forest draws out the illness from the clothes of the sick. For this reason, thousands of people leave their own clothes or those of their loved ones on the trees, hoping for healing. Within a radius of several kilometers, countless clothes can be seen hanging.
The site offers a unique ritual for those who have visited the place, which involves passing through a special opening in a rock arch. Locals believe this act purifies and energizes individuals.
The modern legend of the place is linked to the old woman Baba Yulia Zemedelska, who years ago cured herself of a severe form of cancer following rituals at Scribina. Since then, she has dedicated herself to aiding others.
Visitors to the sanctuary speak of miracles, healing from incurable diseases, emotional suffering, and even infertility. Some people share that they have found relief from their problems, reduced psychological stress or anxiety, while others talk about complete healing from various health issues.
There are various theories attempting to explain this phenomenon. The sanctuary is a subject of study by the the Institute for Space Studies of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS). It has been established that the magnetic field in the area of the sanctuary shows elevated levels. As evidence, frequent malfunctions in technical devices (cameras, drones, etc.) of visitors are cited. Additionally, any food left on the sanctuary's rock is not touched by wild animals. Other theories suggest that the place is a cross point of strong terrestrial energies, or that it is connected to religion or the power of thought, but a definitive answer cannot be given.
The sanctuary is part of an ancient Thracian rock complex, known for its anthropomorphic and zoomorphic megalithic figures, which impress with their carved forms and offer panoramic views from the Western Rhodopes.
